Jaime Claramunt
who wins an iPad |
To show our thanks to those who gave feedback, we offered a chance to win an iPad or similar tablet. The lucky reader is Automation Engineer
Jaime Claramunt, Head of Maintenance Department, Electrical and Control Specialties at CMPC Papeles Rio Vergara, a newsprint paper producer.
Located in Nacimiento, Chile, Papeles Río Vergara leads the country’s newsprint production. The company is also the largest Latin American exporter of this product, with a total export of approximately 150,000 tons, equivalent to 75% of its annual production.

Jaime Claramunt is responsible for the management of all electrical and automation maintenance, with a crew of 48 people consisting of engineers, supervisors, technicians, and shift crews. His team works together with the mechanical department and with coordination from the planning department. He is responsible for the maintenance, repair and failure issues of the entire mill.
Jaime Claramunt sees the Results Automation as a good way for the mill to get updated on all new developments, projects and solutions around the world because the work inside the mill does not allow too much time to travel and visit other installations.
“In my opinion, the most interesting content in the magazine is the coverage of new products and solutions, and the how-to’s. Why should we re-invent the wheel if it’s already there, in the Metso magazine?” he asks.
According to survey, most readers prefer to have a digital version of the magazine. Jaime comments: “For me, a digital version is very appealing and useful. I can view it from work, from home, while traveling…, because it will be portable on all my devices..”
Main conclusions of the Results Automation survey:
- According to survey, More than 50% of the respondents prefer a digital version, so we will not be sending printed magazines to our readers any more. Starting issue 3/2012 link to digital version of the magazine will be emailed to our customers. We will continue to print a limited number of magazines for distribution for example at exhibitions and customer events.
- 56% of the readers want to read articles also outside their own business area. Several comments pointed to the need to get a bigger picture and the interest to know what is going on in other industries as well. Thus, we will continue featuring developments in all our customer industries, pulp and paper, power generation, minerals processing, oil and gas, industrial gas and chemical and petrochemical.
