Waste Incineration Emission Monitoring

Metso DNA WI Emission Monitoring

Air Emissions

The Metso DNA WI Emission Monitoring application is designed according to the Waste Incineration directive (WI). It includes the required flue gas property calculation, the conversion of the measured emissions (NOx, SO2, particles, CO, HF, HCl, TOC,...) into the required units (mg/Nm3) and the calculation of absolute emissions. In addition, it monitors the gaseous emission limit values and the availability of the on-line emission measurement system.

Waste Water

The DNA WI Emission Monitoring application includes the required mass balance calculations of waste water emissions and it monitors the compliance with waste water emission limit values set according to the permit. Operational control parameters (pH, flow, temperature, etc.) of the waste water are collected and reported as part of the operational monitoring report. Some features of the DNA WI Emission Monitoring:

  • start-up and shut-down periods are disregarded, if waste is not burned
  • validating measured data
  • calculating and following up the 10 min. average (CO), half hour and daily averages, taking into account the calibration values and the defined 95 % confidence intervals
  • monitoring of the emission limit values and calculating the exceeding values (hours, %)
