Blog: Metso celebrates 25 years in India

During the past 25 years, Metso has established a strong market presence in the dynamic and fast-moving Indian quarrying and road construction equipment markets. We are proud to celebrate our silver jubilee and commemorate our long journey of commitment, hard work and innovation, which has made us one of the most trusted technology providers in the country in the fields of mining, aggregates and flow control.

Since its inception in India in 1992, Metso has evolved hand in hand with its customers, introducing innovations and services, and at the same time making large-scale investments in its assets across the country. Metso was the first Nordic company to set up a wholly owned subsidiary in India.

Growing together with India

During the past 25 years, we have continuously developed our capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the fast-growing Indian market. We are proud of the privilege of having been involved in key signature infrastructure projects, and we look forward to continuing to build India’s future.

Setting up our own production units in India, including a manufacturing unit at Bawal, a foundry at Ahmedabad, large-scale production facilities at Metso Park at Alwar, and a valve supply and service center at Vadodara, have all contributed to our service capability and ability to help our customers succeed in their fields of business. Today, our customers have quick access to Metso’s expertise from six regional offices and a wide service network across India, with our headquarters in Gurugram, Haryana, next to Delhi.

A story of competence and commitment

Establishing a leading position in the market has been possible through intense collaboration of the best of minds in the industry. Today, our team has a total workforce of around 850 professionals, of which more than 84% are engineers.

Last but not least, the growth trajectory for the last 25 years depicts our continued endeavor to invest in the development of the nation that has accepted us with open arms. As a responsible corporate citizen, Metso has been associated with several philanthropy projects in the country. Our association with SOS Children’s Village and PLAN have worked for the benefit of many, and it gives us immense happiness to be part of these programs.

We would like extend our sincerest thanks to all our customers who have put their faith in us. We’d also like to thank our dedicated employees and partners who have made Metso India what it is today. Together, we have the knowledge and capability to write the next bright chapter in India’s and our joint growth story.
