Q1/2013: Margin improved in a slightly softer market environment

Demand for new equipment and projects remained similar to that seen in the previous quarter and below that in the first quarter of 2012. Secondly, and even more importantly, Metso's flexible business model and focus on our services business yielded a good operating profit result (EBITA) and an improved EBITA margin for the quarter, despite net sales coming in a little slower than in early 2012. Financial statements 2012: Continued growth and an improved result

Last year was good for Metso: our net sales increased, strong growth continued in services, result improved and orders were on a good level. In 2013 our net sales is expected to be at 2012 level or slightly below and EBITA at around 2012 level. Read more
