Summer jobs and trainees

Many Metso employees started out as a summer trainee. First in one job, then in another, then they worked on a thesis. By the time they graduate, the individual knows the company, the company knows the individual, and competencies have often already been demonstrated.

Often this leads to the individual's first permanent employment relationship – established on the basis of mutual knowledge of each other and demonstrated performance.

We have a strong culture and long tradition of summer jobs especially in Finland and Sweden. The Nordic summer season is short and everyone wants to take a vacation during the summer months. This creates a good opportunity for students to become trainees and to find out if their studies are a good match for the career they have in mind. There are summer jobs in virtually every Metso business and location in Finland. In Sweden only bigger locations offer summer jobs.
