Dryers and Coolers
Metso has provided dryers and coolers for a wide variety of materials, from ores to minerals to chemicals to wastes.
Dryers are used to remove moisture from materials. Rotary kiln dryers, fluid bed dryers, intrainment dryers and impact dryers use hot gases to heat the feed material and evaporate the water.
Indirect dryers (indirect rotary kilns, fluid beds and steam tube dryers) keep the material from coming into contact with combustion gases and provide more controlled rates of heating.
Coolers come in both direct and indirect form. They are typically used after a calciner, incinerator or other high temperature-processing unit.
