Metso Cisa
Metso Cisa has its main office in Orleans, France and support offices in Johannesburg, South Africa, Santiago, Chile and Salt Lake City, Utah. Metso Cisa develops the OCS© software for advanced control of processing plants and implements advanced control systems worldwide. Metso Cisa also develops innovative technology in the area of automated vision (VisioFroth™, VisioRock™ and VisioTruck™) and acoustic analysis (AudioMill™) for the minerals industry Metso Cisa is also the excellence center for column flotation technology within Metso.

Metso Minerals Cisa is a company jointly owned by Metso Oy (Finland) and BRGM (France).

What does a Metso optimizing control system do?



Optimizing controls supplement conventional DCS or PLC controls and continuously maximize the profitability of plant operation. Metso's optimizing control projects usually have pay back times of one to a few weeks.

Metso's OCS^© continuously determines and implements optimized set points that reflect a selected control strategy. It maintains a required product quality and targets a technical and economical objective. This results in an increase in capacity, product quality and value and/or a decrease in production costs.

Plant-wide and enterprise-wide control

The Metso OCS^©, with its modular object-oriented structure can be networked and expanded to the whole plant. OCS^© Software algorithms then continuously and automatically set quantified objectives for each section of the plant, based on on-line plant-wide analysis.

Metso's solution is also your solution

We first analyze your process, your objectives, your existing controls and instrumentation. Together, we decide if anything should be done to upgrade your conventional controls. Together, we determine which modules of OCS^© advanced control software are needed for your application.

We listen to you and establish a control strategy, which reflects both your and our expertise. We like to involve your team in system configuration as much as you wish but we can also complete the system alone and deliver it "turn key" if requested. In any case we make sure you understand the actions the system may take and avoid magic and black box strategies.

Because you need to be in a position to independently maintain your optimizing control system and modify it whenever your objectives or your process are modified, education and training services are part of the Metso solution.

Because OCS^© software is designed for plant applications, no specific knowledge in computer programming or artificial intelligence is required. Within a few hours, process engineers are able to modify or configure the strategy on-line.

Finally we make sure you have an easy access to our support services through a direct contact with our engineers, as well as your usual Metso local support structure, and a remote maintenance channel via modem or remote networking.
