Metso delivered an OptiSlush OSD-500 drum pulper to Yueyang Paper in China as part of a complete OptiConcept papermaking and DIP line in 2003. The pulper can process approximately 580 tons of ONP and OMG per day. This delivery was the first in China.
The second delivery to China in 2004 comprised five recycled fiber lines, of which two were deinking lines. The delivery included four OptiSlush drum-pulping stations for DIP, ONP, MXW and SOW, with capacities varying from 500 to 1,500 tons per day. The world’s largest board production line, Ningbo Xiogang mill in Zhejiang province, has an annual production of 700,000 tons of white lined chipboard (WLC).
The drum pulpers have shown their excellence in production. “The drum pulper design is the best on the market. The pulpers’ reject is clean, and the pulpers efficiently reduce wear on the coarse screens and other equipment,” says Han Zhi Cheng, Process Engineer of Ningbo Xiogang.
