| The OptiFiner dispersion concept provides high dispersion performance for all types of impurities, combined with efficient improvement in pulp strength and pulp homogeneity. This further improves paper or board machine runnability. In general, high dispersion process performance is highly important in attaining the best possible product quality. | |
Reliability
Customers in every industry are yearning for technical reliability as well as a reliable partner to help them to improve the productivity of their operations. With long and extensive experience in the papermaking industry, Metso has proven to be a supplier with strong yet modern machine design, proven technology and many reference installations. Metso is also proud to be known as a reliable partner in after-sales service, providing global maintenance, spare parts and process service to its customers.
Dispersion
The OptiFiner compact concept offers valuable benefits for the papermaker, starting with reduced installation costs and followed by the savings that accumulate during the many phases of the plant’s life cycle.
Even with the lower energy consumption, OptiFiner dispersion is capable of delivering high end-product quality. High-efficiency dispersion and ink detachment, with efficient treatment for dirt specks and sticky particles, is achieved, in addition to improved thickening and heating processes. The optimized design of the disperger fillings provides wide adjustability of power, with the conical form providing a larger processing area and longer treatment time than with other disperger types. The result is a significant improvement in pulp strength and fiber properties.
The dispersion system comprises a screw press to increase consistency to nearly 30%. After the press, pulp is heated with steam to the required temperature. In Metso’s dispersing system, heating is applied during the entire processing time, from press to the disperger. This ensures homogenous penetration of heat to the pulp. The main purpose of dispersing is to breakdown ink specks to invisibility or to size that is removable in flotation.
This dispersing system also offers an effective mixing point for bleaching chemicals. In peroxide bleaching, a high-consistency bleaching tower can be installed after the dispersion system.
The new improved OptiFiner dispersion concept can result in up to 40% increased production capacity and significantly lowered investment costs. Read more
