OptiReel – the original center-driven reel
OptiReel is the optimal application for medium-sized production lines and challenging grades that feature, for example, high smoothness, density or gloss. It is suitable for all paper grades, and particularly for coated board.
Capable of reeling up to 3.8 m diameter parent rolls, the fully automated, center-driven OptiReel is an ideal solution for single-winder lines, where the winder presents a bottleneck.
The optimized parent roll build-up in OptiReel is unique. In addition to controlling the nip load and tension in the roll, OptiReel also uses torque that is adjusted via primary and secondary center drives to control reeling tightness.
Today, OptiReel is an industry standard with over a hundred installations in paper, board and tissue mills around the world.
