ValPress center roll-based press
The design of ValPress is based on a cost-efficient and simple concept as well as safety issues. Thanks to the seamed felts, it is possible to construct the press section with no cantilevering.
The new ValPress concept is based on Metso’s SymPress B-type press section, which has numerous excellent references worldwide. ValPress is a three-nip press section equipped with a shoe press for good runnability and high dry content. This new press concept is applicable for all paper grades, as well as containerboard grades.
The frame construction of the ValPress press section is simple and robust, and the space utilization is minimized. Improved space utilization on the back side, in particular, eases both installation and service work and yields cost savings in construction and machine investment. Felt replacement on a press section without cantilevering beams is safer and remarkably faster, and the need for manpower is minimized.
