Personnel structure

At the end of 2011, we had a total of 30,324 (2010: 28,593) employees. The increase came through organic growth, mainly in the Nordic countries, North America and APAC area. The share of our employees in emerging markets in proportion to our total number of personnel was 34 (34) percent. Women accounted for 19 (18) percent of our workforce.

The countries with the most Metso employees were Finland, China, the United States, Sweden and Brazil. These five countries employed 67.5 percent of Metso's total workforce.

Average length of service: 12 years
