Metso's unique Active Setting Control
To combat the issue of uncrushable objects, Nordberg C96, C106, C116 and C120 jaw crushers are available with an optional Active Setting Control (ASC) system. Thanks to this unique system only available from Metso, the Nordberg C Series jaw crushers perform well in applications that would be challenging or even impossible to manage for other jaw crushers.
The crushing forces in the Nordberg C Series jaw crushers equipped with the ASC system are carried by massive hydraulic cylinders mounted into the rear header casting. If an uncrushable object enters the crusher cavity and crushing forces reach the preset maximum level, oil starts to escape out of the cylinders and the setting releases. This way the uncrushable object can get out of the cavity. This functionality enables continuous crushing and protects the crusher from extreme overloads. When automated, for example with Metso IC1000 automation, the crusher setting is returned back to its original one when the uncrushable object has dropped out of the cavity.
Re-use valuable materials safely and economically
Active Setting Control (ASC) technology protects your crusher against overloading. This makes it possible to efficiently and safely process materials that would be difficult or even impossible to process economically with any other technology. The ASC technology enables the re-use of valuable materials, which is both economical and environmentally friendly.
