Metso launched operations in India in 1992 and has been developing a strong footprint in the country. Along with the world-class manufacturing facility in Alwar, Metso's Indian aggregate sector capabilities are supported by a foundry in Ahmedabad, service centers in Bangalore and Faridabad, and a countrywide network of distribution centers. During the past 27 years, Metso has been continuously developing its capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the fast-growing Indian market.

Metso Park, a state-of-the-art facility spread over an area of 78 acres is Metso’s single largest greenfield investment in the world located in Alwar, Rajasthan. The production facility started operations in 2010 and today, it is one of the largest of Metso's global production sites delivering a wide range of aggregate equipment from Nordwheeler, NW Rapid(TM) and Lokotrack(TM) crushing and screening plants with jaw, cone and impact crushers, as well as equipment for mining and process industries and a variety of service products.

In March 2011, Metso Park gained IMS certification in three critical management systems: Quality Management System- ISO 9001: 2008; Environmental Management System - ISO 14001:2004 and Occupational Health & Safety System - OHSAS 18001:2007.

Metso foundry in Ahmedabad, Gujarat was acquired in August 2000 and began its operations in August 2001. The foundry manufactures crusher manganese wears for C series jaw crushers, GP series cone crushers besides making Hi-chrome Slurry pumps wears for both Indian as well as for global customers.

The foundry is accredited with ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management Certification and ISO 14001:2004 Management System for Environment Certification. In year 2013, new mechanized mold line facilities, captive machining facility equipped with CNC machines to mechanize high hardness pump wears have been added to the facility along with the up gradation of quality assurance set up. Post expansion foundry’s capacity has been enhanced to 7,000 metric tons (Crusher Wears: 4000 metric tonnes and Pump Wears: 3000 metric tonnes).

(Upcoming - Production to start by 2020)

Metso is also investing in the development of its foundry capacity in Vadodara, India. The initial investment includes the acquisition of the property and foundry assets of a privately-owned foundry project, Mega Cast. Metso expects to invest a total of approx. EUR 25 million to purchase the assets and to develop the foundry by 2020. With this investment Metso is responding to the global market demand by increasing production capabilities in cast wear parts for the aggregates and mining industries.

The first product deliveries from the Vadodara foundry are expected by the end of 2019 and the production will ramp up quickly in 2020. The new foundry will be built to follow Metso's sustainability and quality principles.

In Nov. 2018, Metso has acquired the valve automation division of India based Rotex Manufacturers and Engineers Private Limited (RMEPL), by acquiring all the shares in RMEBS Controls Private Limited (RMEBS).

The acquisition complements Metso's actuation and valve automation offering and enables a full range of actuators for all major valve markets and a broader offering of limit switches for various applications. It also introduces new products to Metso's process valve portfolio for the oil and gas, pulp and paper, mining, water treatment and other process industries.

Established in 2012, the Valve supply and service center is well equipped with latest technology and equipment to serve local and global markets. The facility is accredited with ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Certification.
