Valmet Hydraulics Oy, a company in Metso Corporation’s machinery business area, was today renamed Santasalo Hydraulics Oy, as the unit is functionally a part of the Santasalo group which specializes in gears and components. Santasalo Hydraulics develops, markets and supplies equipment, solutions and maintenance services for hydrostatic power transmission, mainly for mobile work machines. The company employs 110 persons in Finland. In 1999, the company’s net sales were EUR 17 million.

Metso Corporation's gears and components business group Santasalo develops, manufactures and supplies industrial gears and hydraulic motors and provides related maintenance services. The group also provides designing, manufacturing and expert services for machine construction. In 1999, the net sales of the group totaled EUR 103 million and the number of personnel was approximately 1,250.
