Metso to rebuild a board machine for Mondi Swiecie in Poland

Metso Paper will supply Mondi Packaging Swiecie S.A. in Poland with a rebuild to change their sack paper machine into kraftliner production. The rebuilt machine is scheduled to start up in June 2007. The value of the order is more than EUR 10 million.
The rebuilt PM 1 will have a capacity of 180,000 tpy, and it will produce light weight kraftliner and extra top liner grades.
Mondi Packaging is one of the world's leading packaging companies. With 105 plants and 16,000 employees, it achieved a turnover of EUR 2,831 million in 2004. The Swiecie mill, located 140 km south of Gdansk, has five machines with a total production capacity of approximately 800,000 tpy.
