Metso's new office facilities inaugurated in York, Pennsylvania, the USA

Metso's Mining and Construction Technology's new office facilities in York, Pennsylvania, the USA, were inaugurated on May 17, 2010 by Metso's President and CEO Jorma Eloranta. The new office premises support Metso's capability to serve its mining customers globally and in the US market. The 7,000 m2 of new office space will provide employment opportunities for over 300 people. The value of the investment is approximately EUR 10 million.  

"The investment reflects our confidence in favorable longer-term market development globally, and especially in the US mining sector, and it will improve our competitiveness and support sustainable, profitable growth in the future. In addition, in line with Metso's strategy, we are continuously improving the working conditions of our personnel. The new, modern office facilities bring all our operations in York under the same roof, and the location near our manufacturing facilities is ideal," says Matti Kähkönen, President of Metso's Mining and Construction Technology.

Metso has altogether approximately 2,800 employees in the USA. In 2009, our net sales from the USA amounted to EUR 566 million, representing 11 percent of our total net sales. About half of Metso's net sales in North America comes from the services business.
