Metso Corporation's press release on April 18, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. local time

Metso has signed a contract with Northland Resources AB for minerals processing equipment and works related to its two process lines in Kaunisvaara. The contract also includes equipment and project services. The contract complements Northland's previous order, announced by Metso in February 2011. The complete value of the two orders exceeds EUR 200 million.

According to the new contract Metso will supply a primary gyratory crusher, a semiautogenous grinding mill, 4 vertical grinding mills, and equipment for conveying, classification, separation and filtration to the Kaunisvaara project. The contract also covers all works related to the process plant system, excluding the building that houses the system and civil works related to it.

Metso's equipment deliveries to the Kaunisvaara project will be completed within the second quarter of 2014. The order announced in February amounted to approximately EUR 25 million and it was recorded in Mining and Construction Technology's Q1 orders received. The second order will be included in Q2 orders received.

"We are pleased to partner with Metso in the Kaunisvaara project. Metso's track record as a reliable supplier of equipment and services to mining companies operating in northern Sweden were critical factors in our decision-making", states Karl-Axel Waplan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Northland Resources AB.

"We are very excited about this project. It will mark another milestone in Metso's mining projects in northern Europe. We take it as a positive challenge to meet with the high demands of Northland's experienced project team", says Andrew Benko, President of Mining and Construction Technology, Metso.
