Metso invests in new screen manufacturing center in Romania to strengthen regional service and supply capabilities
Metso Corporation’s press release on July 3, 2025, at 09:00 a.m. EEST
Metso is expanding its stationary screen production footprint by establishing a new manufacturing center in Oradea, Romania. This investment will ensure screening business’ growth strategy by increasing capacity and enhancing customer proximity and service capabilities for customers located in Europe, Central East Asia, and the Middle East.
The screen center will enable the growth of the overall screening business by strengthening capabilities in capital screening equipment, and the supply of spare and wear parts including rubber screening media. The site is expected to employ 70–80 people by the end of 2026.
“This investment is a continuation of our regional strategy implementation,” says Jouni Mähönen, Vice President of the Screening business line. “A new center in Romania will improve responsiveness to meet customer needs, answer to growing demand in growth markets, and strengthen our ability to deliver tailored screening solutions efficiently.”
The new center will improve customer proximity and service levels for customers in regions where Metso is well established but also sees a growing demand for the screening solutions and services in both the minerals and the aggregates segments.
“Customer proximity is at the heart of our service philosophy,” adds Adrian Wood, Vice President, Central Region Screening business line. “Through this investment, we enhance our ability to serve customers by being faster and efficient. We will be able to be more flexible allowing us to meet regional specifications and needs, while also ensuring strong service capabilities through integrated screening media production.”
The Oradea facility in Romania will complement Metso’s existing stationary screen equipment production footprint in France, Brazil, India, South Africa and China.
