The Metso Expulse™ series is a flexible inline pulsation dampener designed for positive displacement pumping applications. It helps reduce pressure fluctuations, smooth process flow and lower stress on pumps and pipelines.

Pressure fluctuations and uneven flow can increase wear on pumping systems and connected equipment. The Expulse™ series uses a double-hose design with an expandable inner hose, reinforced outer hose and compressed air between the hose layers to absorb pulsation energy before it reaches the pipeline.
By smoothing process flow, the Expulse™ series helps reduce pressure fluctuations, pipeline hammering and noise while supporting more stable operation. The flexible design also compensates for pipeline misalignment and can be easily removed to simplify pump maintenance.
Flexible design for reliable operation
The Expulse™ series absorbs up to 90% of pulsations, helping reduce mechanical stress on pumps and piping systems. Reduced pulsation can help extend pump bearing and gearbox life while supporting reliable process performance.
The dampener can temporarily store energy within the flexible hose structure and filler gas, helping improve energy efficiency. Depending on the application, energy savings of up to 10% can be achieved. The non-clogging and self-cleaning design supports reliable operation in demanding applications. Only the inner hose and hose connectors are in contact with the process media, minimizing the number of wetted components.
