GFF Series screens

The Metso GFF Series™ is engineered for high-capacity mining and aggregates operations that require accurate fine screening in challenging conditions. Designed for sticky, wet and ultra-fine materials, it integrates hybrid flip-flow technology, robust box exciters and a flexible multi-deck configuration to deliver consistent performance where conventional screens struggle. With reduced blinding, high throughput and minimal maintenance requirements, the GFF Series improves accuracy, boosts productivity and significantly lowers reliance on water.
High screening efficiency

Accurate fine screening down to 0.5 mm with stable, high-throughput performance.

Exceptional performance in sticky materials

Flip-flow decks prevent pegging and blinding for reliable screening of moist, sticky or clay-rich materials.

Long service life

Engineered with robust box exciters and durable screening media for reduced downtime and extended equipment longevity.

Easy maintenance even for very large screens

Modular media, hammerless fixing and large configurable screen sizes streamline service and enhance safety.

Flip-flow technology

The GFF Series™ combines a free-swinging flat or multi-slope deck linear motion screen with up to two flip-flow decks delivering superior performance across a wide range of materials.

This hybrid deck concept merges the strengths of conventional screening and flip-flow technology:

  • Conventional decks handle coarser separations and protect the flip-flow section.
  • Flip-flow decks excel at fine, moist, sticky or clay-containing materials prone to blinding.

The screen is highly configurable with e.g.

  • A wide range of exciter options for optimal performance
  • Flat or engineered multi-slope configurations
  • Modular media options including flip-flow mats and Metso’s extensive Trellex® portfolio for tailored application performance

Challenges solved

  • Reliable dry fine screening where traditional screens struggle with blinding or pegging
  • High performance in sticky ore classification, sand production and recycling duties
  • Reduced reliance on wet processes — beneficial where water is restricted or costly
  • Improved circuit performance in HPGR, SAG and tertiary crushing flows
  • Lower cost of ownership through durable design and easy serviceability

Key applications

The GFF Series™ is ideal for a wide range of fine screening applications such as:

  • Dry fine screening in HPGR and SAG circuits
  • Classification of sticky ores (coal, weathered ores)
  • Fine aggregates and sand production in dry processes
  • Recycling waste, biomass and other demanding materials
  • Wet or dry final screening duties (depending on process needs)
Built to outperform
Built to outperform
  • Wide and scalable screening range. Available in a broad selection of standard and engineered-to-order sizes (up to 5 meters wide) to match diverse plant layouts, capacity requirements and process demands
  • Hybrid deck configuration. Combines linear motion and flip-flow screening technologies to deliver high efficiency across a wide variety of materials
  • Strong anti-blinding performance. Flip-flow action keeps material moving and open area clear, enabling stable performance in fine, sticky or wet applications
  • Engineered-to-order flexibility. Customizable configurations allow the GFF Series to integrate seamlessly into both new installations and retrofit projects
  • Complete process solution from one partner. Metso can deliver not only the optimal screening solution, but the entire process equipment chain. This integrated approach ensures seamless compatibility, faster implementation, lower project risk and performance optimization across the whole plant
Solution for your industry
  • Mining: the GFF Series™ delivers high-efficiency dry fine screening for sticky, high-moisture and fine ore feeds. Engineered-to-order large screen sizes support HPGR and SAG circuits, improving downstream efficiency through stable classification
  • Aggregates: accurate dry sand and fine aggregate screening with no process water needed. Easy maintenance and flexible screening media make GFF a strong fit for both new and existing plant footprints
