Build the pellet plants of the future
NextGen Pelletizing is our futuristic vision to build the green, carbon-neutral, and fully autonomous pelletizing plants of the future. It follows a modular approach to minimize the sources of CO2 from the three carbon-intensive steps involved in pelletizing, and introduces further improved gas schemes, advanced combustion and burner technology (LowNOx, hydrogen, and alternative fuels) as well as increased plant stability and performance by advanced process control.
Rectangular six in line smelting furnace for converting direct reduced iron (DRI) to molten metal
The Metso DRI Smelting Furnace combined with direct reduction plant enables decarbonizing steel industry by replacing blast furnaces. Metso DRI Smelting Furnace furnace is based on proven proprietary equipment and enables utilizing blast furnace grade iron ore.
100% Hydrogen based Fine Ore Reduction as one route to CO2 neutral steelmaking
Corcored is a flexible process, which produces highly metalized direct reduced iron (DRI) or hot briquetted iron (HBI) that can be fed directly to an electric arc furnace. It has proven its functionality and performance in an industrial-scale demonstration plant almost 25 years ago. At METEC 2023, we will share how this solution can further be combined with a DRI Smelting furnace and can help the iron and steel industry to significantly lower their CO2 emissions.
