"We currently produce around a couple of hundred thousand tonnes of different types of aggregates a year," says owner Tuomas Verainen.
Veraisen Sora's soil material sites are located around Mynämäki. Additionally, there are sites in Uusikaupunki, Nousiainen and Laitila. There is also a pick-up point in Roukkuli, Mynämäki.
Aggregates production is currently handled by a production chain supplied by Metso Outotec: the jaw crusher is Lokotrack® LT116, followed by a Lokotrack® LT200HP gyratory crusher, and the screening side is handled by a Lokotrack® ST3.5 fine screen. The latest addition to the chain is the track-mounted Nordtrack™ CT24 stacking conveyor. The stacking conveyor moves the crushed end product away from the mobile screen, directly into a heap up to about 10 metres high, from where it can be tipped into a dumper truck.
"The CT24 was actually purchased for us for a very wide range of applications. We have used it behind the crusher as a normal stacking conveyor, but we have also used it in the gravel pit to drive the finest gravel varieties directly into the heap. We've also done contract work with it - it's been easy to take it to the customer's site," Verainen says.
"The impact on the efficiency of the production chain has been considerable. In practice, we can use one large wheel loader to handle both conveying the crushed stone from beneath the crusher and the loading of the crushed stone. It has made the wheel loader driver's rhythm much easier," Verainen continues.
Mobility is also facilitated by the ability to get the equipment into the transport position. According to Verainen, the device quickly goes into a very small space, and is easy to return to operating position.
"It's really easy to use and runs on very little fuel. We've been using about three litres per hour," says Verainen.
As the youngest generation of the Verainen family, Tuomas has been working with Metso Outotec for 12 years. He notes that his experience has always been very positive and covers a wide range of services.
"We've certainly received great customer service from Metso Outotec for as long as I've been here. Both in terms of service, spare parts and sales, I have been very satisfied," concludes Verainen.
