Edmeston SX® welding material

Can be used with acid-resistant stainless steel and other materials

Edmeston SX® welding material is corrosion-resistant against concentrated sulfuric acid providing superior performance. They can be welded to Edmeston SX® acid-resistant stainless steel and other materials such as carbon steel and stainless steel.

Welding methods, materials and recommendations

Welding deformation of Edmeston SX® welding material is slightly higher compared to standard grade stainless material. The following welding methods can be applied to Edmeston SX® welding material:

SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) or Covered Electrode welding
GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) or TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding
GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) or MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding

Welding to other materials

Edmeston SX® welding material can be welded to other materials such as carbon steel and stainless steel. Welding to Ni-based material (>30% Ni) is however critical.
