Edmeston SX® welding material

Can be used with acid-resistant stainless steel and other materials

Edmeston SX® welding material is corrosion-resistant against concentrated sulfuric acid providing superior performance. They can be welded to Edmeston SX® acid-resistant stainless steel and other materials such as carbon steel and stainless steel.
Benefits
  • Excellent corrosion resistance over a wide concentration range

  • Superior equipment lifespan and minimal maintenance

  • Clean acid-free from corrosion products

  • Lightweight speeds up installation and reduces the need for foundation work

Benefits of Edmeston SX® welding material.

Welding methods, materials and recommendations

Welding deformation of Edmeston SX® welding material is slightly higher compared to standard grade stainless material. The following welding methods can be applied to Edmeston SX® welding material:

  • SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) or Covered Electrode welding
  • GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) or TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding
  • GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) or MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding

Welding to other materials

Edmeston SX® welding material can be welded to other materials such as carbon steel and stainless steel. Welding to Ni-based material (>30% Ni) is however critical.

Welding recommendations

  • Always use Edmeston SX® filler material
  • Weld with low heat input
  • Max interpass temp 60ºC / 140ºF

Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), as well as welding training, can be provided upon request.
