Nordwheeler™ NW8HRC roll crusher is ideal for manufacturing sand. The Metso HRC 8™ HPGR - Opens in a new window (High pressure grinding rolls) produces an improved cubical shape with low energy and wear parts consumption.
The HRC 8, included in the Metso Plus offering, consumes 50% less power in sand production compared to other technologies for the same volume of net product.
The HRC 8 high pressure grinding roll crusher also allows you to re-crush the waste piles and by-products to seleable products that are used as raw material in concrete and asphalt production.
Relocating to recrush waste piles at different sites
For easy transport, the NW8HRC roll crusher has an advanced wheel-mounted chassis with 2-axle removable bogie and standard transportation dimensions.
Due to its comliance with the EU road regulation, it can be transported without special transportation permits in many countries.
At the site, the machines can set up quickly using hydraulic support legs, with no need for a heavy crane. The portable plants don’t require heavy concrete foundations, and the ability to relocate the entire site make the crushing permitting easier.

Lower CO2 emissions with electric-powered portable crushers
Nordwheeler portable plants are all electric, including the NW8HRC high pressure grinding roll crusher - part of the Metso Plus offering - Opens in a new window. Lower CO2 emissions make the crushing and screening operation more sustainable, especially when using renewable energy sources.
Electrically operated units are easy to maintain, and their operational costs are significantly lower than diesel-driven machines. In addition, when the grid is not available, servicing a single large diesel generator on the site is less demanding than servicing multiple diesel engines in each unit.
Electric equipment is also often an important requirement for crushing permits and when bidding for contracts.
Crusher process control for improved productivity
Metso IC™ crusher process control is a standard feature for portable crushers. It automates, monitors, controls and optimizes the crushing process.
Nordwheeler plants include Remote User Interface (RUI), which ensures more efficient and safer use of the plant. The system can be centrally controlled from a distance, leading to safer and easier operation of the machine.
The remote system allows adjusting the process without stopping it, further improving productivity and reducing downtime through preventive maintenance. The end product quality is also more consistent due to an automatically controlled process.
IC process control and RUI are included with Nordwheeler plants without any extra costs.

As with all Metso products, safety is a priority with the NW8HR NW Rapid™ roll crusher. Features such as spacious walkways, stairs and handrails improve the safety of daily operation and maintenance of the plant.
Portable cone crushers are backed up with Metso’s global network of service professionals, optimization experts and OEM spare and wear parts. As an optional service, the Equipment protection services (EPS) come with extended warranty, scheduled inspections and Metso Metrics remote monitoring.
