Enhancing HRC Grinding System performance with Metso GFF Series™ screens
With over 100 units installed worldwide alongside HPGR systems, proven GFF screening technology operates reliably in both wet and dry conditions, enabling precise particle classification at high throughput and ensuring consistent performance even in challenging applications. This makes GFF screens an ideal partner for HRC.
- Improves overall classification efficiency by 20–30% compared to traditional banana screens
- Effective fine removal increases micro-void volume, enhancing rock breakage under compression
- Ensures better stratification, resulting in significantly more efficient fine screening
Proven operational excellence
- Able to make a separation as fine as 0.3 mm
- Unit capacity can reach up to 2500 tph while maintaining 85%–90% efficiency
- Features an ultra-low maintenance schedule, requiring approximately 2 to 4 hours of regular maintenance for an average of every 10,000 hours of exciter life
Screening modules
Metso MF and GFF screen technology complement HRC grinding systems to unveil the HPGR’s highest efficiency. Due to ore variability in terms of particle size distribution and hardness, the screen selection imposes a new challenge in terms of size and number of screens when incorporating the screens into the HRC grinding system. Metso HRC grinding systems are built on our solid HRC test data base and screening knowledge base — our screen module is scalable and configurable to accommodate this variable.
Scope of supply. Screen modules can include:
- Feed storage system with bins and dust control system
- Screen feed system with weigher, belt feeder or pan feeder and tramp removal magnet
- Screen with special pulping feed chute, oversize and undersize discharge chutes
- Oversize protection screen deck to remove oversize particles that can lead to HRC roller damage
- Undersize wet system using pump module (part of the Grinding Classification System)
Flowsheet integration:
- Seamlessly integrated with downstream milling circuit
- Suitable for both dry screening and wet screening circuits
- Enables fast layout development
- Allows for needed future expansion and enables process flexibility as the flow sheet changes
