Driving the limits of grinding performance

Mining operations continue to navigate through the challenges of rising ore hardness, evolving feed characteristics, high economical recovery expectations, and operational constraints. HRCe grinding systems

The HRC and next-generation HRCe - Opens in a new window HPGR technology sets the benchmark for energy-efficient high-throughput grinding. HRCe grinding systems however, extend far beyond the machine itself. Our solution can integrate conveying, tramp management, structural elements and service infrastructure, all delivered in a pre-engineered and configurable module.

Scope of supply - HRCe modules can include:

  • HRCe with feed chute, hopper and auxiliaries
  • Feed system including stockpile, draw down feeder
  • Conveyors, metal detector and tramp removal system
  • Circuit surge bin for circulation load management & circuit recovery from emergency stop
  • Overhead crane, service frame, or service trailer
  • Optional enclosing building or housing structure available

Screening modules

With over 100 units installed worldwide alongside HPGR systems, proven GFF screening technology - Opens in a new window operates reliably in both wet and dry conditions, enabling precise particle classification at high throughput and ensuring consistent performance even in challenging applications. Metso MF and GFF screen technology complement HRCe grinding systems to unveil the HPGR’s highest efficiency. Due to ore variability in terms of particle size distribution and hardness, selecting the number and size of screens can be challenging when incorporating screening into an HRCe grinding system. Metso HRCe grinding systems are built on our solid HRCe test data base and screening knowledge base, with screen modules designed for fast layout and to be scalable and configurable to accommodate this variable.

Scope of supply - Screen modules can include:

  • Feed storage system with bins and dust control system
  • Screen feed system with weigher, belt feeder or pan feeder and tramp removal magnet
  • Screen with special pulping feed chute, oversize and undersize discharge chutes
  • Protection screen deck to remove oversize particles that can lead to HRCe roller damage
  • Undersize wet system using pump module (part of the Grinding classification system)
