With the Pretium Water Advisor solution you can monitor water balance across your entire site without having to rely on time-consuming manual water balance and key performance indicator (KPI) calculations. The solution combines intelligent water measurement stations and instrumentation with Metso’s predictive water balance computing platform, allowing you to monitor, control, and optimize your water resources in a completely new way. How does it work?

How does it work?

The solution connects real-time water monitoring and online process data with modeling, simulation, analytics, and reporting software via the Metso technical platform. The core computing capability relies on Metso HSC Sim software, which integrates dynamic production operations with hydrological water cycle data to perform dynamic predictive water balance calculations.

Depending on the need, users can access dashboards, tools, and reports via their own intranet or via Metso’s Remote Service Portal. Using our web-based tools, plant managers and engineers can view water KPIs as both graphical views and historical trends. They also have access to model-based scenario management tools for performing simulations and evaluating the impacts of new water treatment investments, process changes, or, for example, the impact of expansion plans on your site’s water resources.

If accurate and reliable real-time data on your site’s water resources is not available, we can implement distributed low-cost sensor networks with wireless data transmission to enable monitoring of water quality, level, and flow. Alternatively, Pretium Water Advisor can also utilize data from existing water monitoring stations.

We can ensure the functionality of the computing platform and monitor availability and performance based on predefined KPI values. If the installation includes sensor networks, we can support your operations with installation supervision, commissioning, and maintenance services. And because the solution is based on the Metso technical platform, you also benefit from remote support from our water management specialists.

Our monitoring stations provide accurate and reliable real-time data on your site’s water resources and can be used to monitor both environmental and process water. Our standard hardware is competitively priced and designed to perform reliably in harsh environments even under constant exposure to rain, humidity, dust, frost, and sun. The hardware can be quickly and easily customized to meet your specific requirements.

Monitoring stations can be easily connected to the Metso technical platform for data collection, processing, visualization, and device management. This allows us to establish wireless measurement networks with wide enough coverage for large mining sites and enables intelligent water management solutions that are interoperable at all levels. In addition, monitoring stations can be connected directly to your automation system.

Our standard monitoring stations measure pH, temperature, conductivity, suspended solids/turbidity, and flow/level. They can also be customized for other water quality parameters.
